Governor's Office of Workforce Transformation

Workforce Development

The Office of Workforce Transformation's mission is to connect Ohio's business, training, and education communities to build a dynamically skilled, productive, and purposeful workforce.

The Governor's Office of Workforce Transformation (OWT) is the strategic body responsible for aligning the state's education, training, and employment systems with the needs of Ohio businesses. Led by the Lieutenant Governor, the OWT coordinates efforts across state agencies to build a skilled, productive, and competitive workforce.

This office drives major state initiatives that directly benefit employers, including:

  • Talent Strategy: Setting the direction for workforce development and identifying in-demand skills and jobs in Ohio's economy.
  • Training Incentives: Overseeing programs like TechCred, which helps employers invest in upskilling their current or future workforce by providing reimbursement for industry-recognized technology training.
  • Sector Partnerships: Supporting industry-driven partnerships to ensure training programs are aligned with the specific needs of local business sectors.

The OWT is your gateway to understanding and influencing the state's long-term talent strategy.
