Kenton Lions Club
Community Organizations & Nonprofits
The Kenton Lions Club is a local service organization connected to Lions International, but mainly doing charity work for the Kenton area. The Kenton Lions Club was formed on January 14, 1947. The Kenton Lions Club currently has 52 members. We are probably best known for our Lions Show, which is held every other year with skits and local entertainment to raise money for our service projects. Service projects include: purchase eyeglasses for children and adults, recycle used eye glasses, roadside clean up on 309 West, landscaped all the City of Kenton welcome signs, helped put up the veterans banners, the lining-up and handing out flags in the Memorial day parade, host “The Kenton Lions Club Ohio’s Biggest Small Town Christmas Parade", host the Bowling with Santa, provide the Lion Carl Lotz Scholarship, donate to many local and regional groups serving the Kenton area, and our newest project the rehab of Pioneer Park. Our funding raising efforts include our Lions Show (last held in Spring of 2024), Broom Sales, Raffle that is held at Eats on the Streets, Lions Golf Scramble, and our newest is the Lions street banners project/fundraiser. Moneys that are received from these fundraisers are used to fund all of our service projects. Over 80% of moneys raised are returned to the Kenton Community through our service projects. The Kenton Lion’s Club is a very active service organization, whether through funding projects or actual boots on the ground, if there is a need you’ll find a Lion. If you would be interested in becoming a member of the Kenton Lion’s Club please come to a meeting and check us out. The Kenton Lions Club meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at the Kenton Elks Lodge 157 at 6:30 pm. Except for the months of July-September the 3rd Wednesday.
