Our mission is to support choices of people with disabilities to get the supports they need and want. We believe we can enrich our community by ensuring these choices exist for people with disabilities. Our hope is to help people with disabilities find these choices and supports within their communities the same way we all do.
This November the Hardin County Board of Developmental Disabilities/Simon Kenton School is asking voters to approve a .5 mil levy that will cost a taxpayer about $17.50 per year per $100,000 of property value. HCBDD has not received new tax dollars since 2013. That’s 11 years without additional tax dollars. Without these additional funds, HCBDD will not be able to fund preschool and school age programs. These expenses would be passed onto the local school districts as they are required to provide these services. If you have questions about your tax dollars at work please contact Superintendent Kara Brown at 937-309-1343 or go to www.hardindd.org
