𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓: Heartbeat of Hardin County is a pregnancy resource center that helps those who are expecting and/or have a child under 4. We started back in 1980. Our goal is to help families that choose life for their child. We provide free pregnancy tests, emergency assistance for diapers, clothes and formula, and long-term support programs. Our main program is our Circle of Moms and Circle of Dads. This program is an earn-as-you-learn program where parents attend the monthly meeting and earn points for things, they need such as infant car seats, cribs, diapers, formula, clothes and much more. These classes meet the last Tuesday of each month. One meets at 5:30 pm and the other meets at 7:30 pm. They last an hour and then the clients get to shop in the boutique.

We are not an income-based program. Most of our clients work or their partner works. They just need the extra to get through the month. Many come to just get out of the house and have some adult conversation. The women even started their own support group outside of the classes. They come early for some good talk and catch-up time.

Our program for the Dads is rebuilding. We have two great male leaders, who are ready to work with dads on everything from being a new dad to learning to run a household.

We are funded from local sources including individuals, churches, organizations, businesses, and special projects funds from the Hardin County Community Foundation and the Kenton Elks.

Together with Safe Haven of Hardin County we provide sex trafficking awareness education to the community. It is something we both are very passionate about and try to provide community events throughout the county a couple of times a year.

We received special funds from Hardin Co. JFS that is used solely to go in the county schools and help prevent teen pregnancy. Julie Zaring has been in the schools for 24 years. Topics discussed include; STI's and STD's, teen pregnancy, healthy marriages, health and unhealthy relationships, goal setting, dating violence, pair bonding and so much more. This program is free of charge to schools. We also do an afterschool program, called GEMS, twice a year for 8-weeks and Kenton Middle school girls learn what a "gem" they are by building up their self-esteem. Girls will earn a gemstone bracelet and attend a special outing if they complete the program.
