The MVCIC bought the vacant lot and with the help of many generous people developed the park, naming it in honor of the supermarket’s founder, Henry Martin. A mural depicting the town’s history was painted onto the building adjacent as backdrop to the park.

In 1998, a local artist by the name of Jim Daly painted a new mural. Over time, the mural cracks and peels making it necessary to repaint often. In 2022, it was time for a new mural which would be made of canvas material. The mural would be attached to the building’s brick and provide easier maintenance. Three designs were created: The Centennial Parade, Photo Scrapbook and The Train. The community was involved in selecting the final design and the winner was…The Train!
